Revised Common Rule Resources

On January 21, 2019, changes to the Federal Policy for the Protection of Human Subjects (also known as the Revised Common Rule) are scheduled to take effect.

Any submission received after 5 pm on January 18th will be treated as an "after January 21, 2019" submission.

In order to comply with the revised Federal Regulations, the IRB is updating some of its Forms and Templates. All protocols submitted after January 21, 2019 will need to use the following revised forms as applicable:

  1. Exempt Application
  2. Non-Exempt Application
  3. Consent Template
  4. Assent Template (Ages 7-10)
  5. Assent Template (Ages 11-14)
  6. Assent Template (Ages 15-17)
  7. Parent Permission Form Template

The Exempt and Non-Exempt Applications are undergoing final revisions and review, and are expected to be available in mid-December 2018. The Consent, Assent, and Permission templates have been updated. We understand that this will be a short time frame, and are doing our utmost to ensure that all protocols are handled efficiently and fairly. Please feel free to contact us if you need additional information or assistance at or 509-335-7646.
