Explanation of new procedures (Video)
The WSU Institutional Review Board (IRB) announces that, beginning February 1, 2008, modified procedures in the submission and review of research applications that involve human participants will be implemented.
What has changed:- The IRB will only review projects that meet the definition of research.
- Principal Investigators (PIs) on IRB Applications must be WSU faculty or staff.
- Modified forms for both Exempt and Non Exempt applications.
- Modified process for the evaluation of Exempt research applications.
- Initiation of Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative (CITI) for web-based human subjects training.
The modified forms and procedures are designed to make the submission and review of IRB Applications easier and more efficient.
